Honours Project
My main and final project in Honours year had us sourcing and managing our own project through Planning, Building Warrant and to completion which included a presentation pitch.
The design was set from the start to be fairly cost effective but with a high quality finish. I believe I achieved this by creating a basic rectangular shaped building with a straightforward central roof pitch. The structure of the building is made using a steel beam portal frame system, clad in vertical Siberian larch stained to the clients specification. The building is completely insulated and well lit to give the most comfortable working environment possible.
As well as ample storage for 2 cars, 2 trailers and 2 heavy pieces of machinery the building also allows for additional storage on the floor above. Likewise on the upper floor is a lounge room designed to house a pool table, TV, wifi space, WC and kitchenette.
