CHARLESTON ACADEMY

Secondary School - 2007/2012

For 5 years I studied at Charleston Academy in Inverness and left 5th year in 2012 with 2 highers. After this I took a gap year in which I re-sat my Intermediate 2 maths and worked simultaneously.

Charleston Academy was a fairly small school of around 760 pupils and a large catchment area. Charleston is also the known Highland Football Academy but unfortunately I had no interest in any sporty subjects. Instead I studied Graphic Communication and Product Design without fully understanding what I even wanted to be in the future. After leaving I looked to further my Graphic Communication Higher, but instead found an opening at the UHI to study Architectural Technology.

University - 2013/2017

After taking a gap year to work following high school, I rejoined full time education in 2013. Here I studied for 4 year doing Architectural Technology and achieved my Honours Degree. I am due to graduate officially through the traditional ceremony in September 2017.

Within this course I learned to juggle numerous projects with different team members all working towards a common goal and deadline. I learned to fully develop a Building Warrant, submit a planning document and mould concepts to client needs.

I also found a great interest in creating and recreating virtual places. Such as forming topography settings and furnishing them with as realistic an environment as possible.
